Limited Warranty Policy

1. Scope of Warranty
STEPS Inclusive Design Ltd (“SID”) warrants that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal, intended use for a period of 2 years from the original date of purchase.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. What Is Covered
Subject to the conditions below, this warranty covers:
- Structural integrity of load-bearing components
- Manufacturing defects
- Material defects
- Defects in workmanship
- Mechanical adjustment mechanisms
Coverage applies only where the product:
- Has been assembled in accordance with the supplied Instructions for Use
- Has been used within stated maximum load limits
- Has been used for its intended purpose
- Has been maintained as specified in the product documentation
3. Product-Specific Requirements
All safety, cleaning, inspection, and environmental limitations set out in the relevant User Manual & Instructions for Use form part of this warranty.
For example (where applicable to a product):
- Maximum user weight limits
- Indoor-use limitations
- Prohibition of structural modification
- Cleaning restrictions (including prohibition of alcohol-based solvents)
- Inspection requirements
- Assembly requirements
Failure to follow product documentation may invalidate this warranty.

4. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic surface marks or finish degradation that does not affect safety or function
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, or improper storage
- Incorrect or incomplete assembly
- Exceeding published load ratings
- Use in environments outside specified limitations
- Commercial or institutional use where the product is designated for domestic use only
- Damage caused by unauthorised repairs, modifications, welding, drilling, or alterations
- Damage caused by use of unsuitable cleaning agents
- Accidental damage
- Damage resulting from failure to carry out regular inspection
Consumable components (e.g., ferrules, feet, soft pads where applicable) may be subject to normal wear and are not considered manufacturing defects unless proven otherwise.
5. Safety-Related Failures
If a structural or safety-related issue is suspected:
- The product must be removed from use immediately
- The customer must contact SID before further use
Continued use of a product after a suspected defect may invalidate warranty claims and compromise safety.
6. Warranty Claim Procedure
To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must:
- Contact SID in writing
- Provide proof of purchase
- Provide a description of the issue
- Provide clear photographs or video evidence
SID may request:
- Return of the product for inspection
- Return of the defective component only
- Additional documentation
Warranty claims will be assessed by SID to determine eligibility.
7. Remedies
If a valid defect is confirmed, SID may, at its sole discretion:
- Repair the product
- Replace the defective component
- Replace the product with an equivalent model
- Provide a refund (pro-rated where appropriate)
Repair or replacement under warranty does not extend the original warranty period.
8. Shipping & Inspection Costs
For confirmed warranty claims within the UK:
- Return shipping or collection may be arranged by SID.
For international claims:
- The customer may initially be responsible for return shipping.
- If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, reasonable shipping costs may be reimbursed.
Customs duties, import taxes and clearance fees are not covered under warranty.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- SID’s liability is limited to repair, replacement or refund of the defective product.
- SID is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
Nothing in this warranty excludes liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot legally be excluded
10. Relationship to Returns Policy
This warranty applies after the 30-day returns window has expired and covers manufacturing defects only.
It does not provide a right of return for change of mind beyond the terms of the Returns Policy.
